Chattogram is located in the southeastern part of Bangladesh and is the second largest city having a population of more than 30 million with a catchments area of 24 million. Chattogram is the industrial hub of the country and deals with over 60% of the country’s total exports and imports.
Inadequate healthcare facilities in both public and private sectors are forcing a significant number of patients every year to travel abroad to seek treatment at great mental and physical sufferings. Available information indicates around USD 500 million is being spent outside the country every year for healthcare.

Considering the Inadequate healthcare facilities in both public and private sectors in Chattogram as well as in Bangladesh, it has been reflected that an international standard healthcare services is essential for the people of Bangladesh. From that thoughts, Imperial Hospital Limited (IHL) has been initiated in 2007.

Chattogram Imperial College of Nursing, is a sister concern of Imperial Hospital Limited (IHL). As IHL initiated to build up a world class tertiary care hospital in Bangladesh. By this time its name and fame already focused in inland and abroad. Top level managerial personnel have been appointed to build a prestigious image in Health care. To uphold the better achievement & regain the public faith on health care we need to prepare a strong dynamic nursing work force with our potentialities.

In conjunction with the Imperial Hospital Limited (IHL) is the planned development of the Chattogram Imperial College of Nursing (CICN) which will provide a four year B.Sc. in Nursing under the Chattogram Medical University.
